We are looking for strong software engineers to join our rapidly growing Applications team, responsible for all of the client-facing components at Amobee. You should be motivated by building high performance, web-based, enterprise applications that are used to manage hundreds of millions of dollars in digital marketing spend around the globe.

The Applications team works closely with the Product Management and User Experience teams to help design our products. Our work process is a nice blend of agile and design-oriented development which puts the customer experience first and foremost.

We are mostly full stack developers with exposure to everything – back-end, front-end, and everything in between. Some projects may involve more front-end development using modern JavaScript framework; others will involve working on backend infrastructure APIs that interact with our stores. In either case, the collaborative nature of the team allows you to constantly learn new things and mentor others.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build high quality, highly scalable, high performance, fault tolerant, low latency Enterprise software application services and components using latest frontend and backend technologies
  • Design, develop and test product and technology features on the Amobee technology platform, including areas such as audience and media planning, execution, reporting and analytics and core application infrastructure
  • Manage smaller 2-3 month long projects entirely from designing to planning, execution, going live, and maintenance
  • Manage resources of self, and other junior developers if needed.
  • Manage expectations of Product, Clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage clear and timely communications, escalate risk soon.
  • Ownership of features, sub-systems
  • Not wait to  jumping in and debugging any problem
  • Not resting until the problem is resolved to everyone’s satisfaction
  • Understand impact, and weigh sense of urgency
  • Escalate, and find help as soon as possible, if needed
  • Communicate updates regularly through problem-solving
  • Exercising judgment of an experienced Software Engineer
  • Provide critical feedback in pre-code design reviews and code reviews
  • Think-it-through on design decisions, problem fixes
  • When making code updates, go beyond the scope to improve. Basically, use every opportunity to improve
  • Speak-up or escalate when things don’t make sense
  • Team Leadership
  • Collaborate with team members efficiently to achieve desired results.
  • Help and mentor junior team members., provide help to other team members when needed
  • Active participation in agile (Scrum) software development process
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Master’s degree preferred
  • Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to creatively solve problems and thrive when faced with new and unique challenges
  • Outstanding programming and debugging skills
  • Strong knowledge of common algorithms and data structures
  • 2+ years of work experience with Java, preferably with Spring framework / Spring Boot and other J2EE technologies
  • 1+ years of experience with NoSQL data storage technologies like MongoDB or ElasticSearch, plus RDBMS/SQL design and development experience (e.g. Oracle) preferred
  • 1+ years of experience with Frontend / UI development including HTML/CSS and JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, etc.
  • Familiarity with one or more stream processing / queuing technologies like Kafka
  • Familiarity of an agile/scrum project environment and development process
  • Experience with version control systems (git, hg, svn), be very comfortable with branching and merging
  • Familiarity with Build Management, Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, Maven, Jenkins
  • Unix/Linux background including scripting
  • Compensation for Colorado residents only:
    Amobee carefully considers many factors, such as experience and competencies, regarding compensation. These considerations can greatly impact compensation amounts. This role starts at a minimum $88,700 annual base salary. Depending on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, qualifications and skillsets, the actual pay may be higher. Amobee also offers a very competitive benefits package, which are subject to eligibility requirements.
