This year has been an exciting one for Amobee, and to proverbially kick it up a notch, we held our seventh Hack@Amobee event on May 23 and 24. Much like previous times, this competition challenges our engineers to conceptualize, build and demo a new product within a 24-hour period.
Hack@Amobee has always been a great way to bring engineers and product managers from different offices to collaborate in person in Redwood City. This year we’ve become a larger family, so it was only natural that Amobee engineers from Santa Monica and Tel Aviv came to participate in the Hack@Amobee, in addition to Amobee’s Redwood City and Champaign offices.
Through a never-ending torrent of food, drinks and laughs, the twenty-four hours went by quickly, and miraculously, all teams survived and produced quality results. The projects ran the gamut, including a Lego-based ping pong serving machine, real-time machine learning to “pretarget” users, emails that read themselves to figure out customer requests, an audience extension combining both Turn and Amobee tech stacks and the aptly named “Money Printing Machine.” Sign me up for that.
The judges this year found it hard to score the teams due to so many impressive projects. Ultimately, competition was close and the top three teams had close scores. To keep the momentum going, we have committed to quickly turn hack projects into product features in the coming quarter.
With another successful Hack@Amobee under our belt, we take the spirit of innovation and newly forged relationships forward to bring Amobee and Turn into the future of marketing technology.
