Turn Gives Back to Our Communities

by Amobee, September 26, 2016

Turn’s third annual Global Give Back Week was a big success! Our offices hosted events to inspire employees to get involved in their communities and the charities they’re passionate about.

One of Turn’s company values is humility – demonstrating a mutual respect and a generous spirit. In prospective hires, we look for people who walk the walk – whether it’s giving back within their community or their team. Giving back for Turn starts early in our onboarding process – it’s part of our new hire orientation, all new hires are scheduled to engage with a local charity or nonprofit. After new hire, we build on the premise that it’s part of our culture to not only care about clients, but also the communities where we work and live.

This year we added a new twist to our week of giving back: leaders in our various offices participated in fun social events to support financial giving to local charities. In Redwood City, I joined our CEO, Bruce Falck; head of engineering, Santanu Kolay; head of product, Jamie Fellows; CFO, Mark Liao; SVP-strategy, Philip Smolin; for a cookout benefitting Pets in Need, Second Harvest Food Bank and My New Red Shoes.  In additional to financial contributions, many Redwood City employees gave their time at organizations like Resource Area For Teaching (RAFT) were they assembled  science kits and teacher resource materials; My New Red Shoes where they sorted shoes for underserved children and adults and the Redwood City Boys and Girls Club where we participated in after school tutoring activities.

In New York, Our VP of marketing science services, Max Knight, and general counsel, Wolf Konstant, mixed drinks to benefit UNICEF. The New York team also held a food drive and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Trinity Soup Kitchen.

We expanded our activities in our other offices, too. Our LA office sorted clothes for homeless youth shelters at My Friends Place; our EMEA team held a food drive for the Waterloo Foodbank and a crepe-off benefiting the London Air Ambulance; our Chicago office donated cash, made bedding and toys, and played with pets at the Anti-Cruelty Society; and our San Francisco office held a food drive for the Marin Food Bank and volunteered at the Glide Memorial and Sutro Native Plant Nursery. In Champaign, our office participated in the Light the Night free bike light distribution event and a food distribution event at the Wesley Pantry.

I’m grateful to be part of a company that cares and enables all of our employees to give generously of their time and talents so we can make an impact in the communities in which we live. All in all it was a very successful week of globally making an impact. Thank you Team Turn!
